SHAPING YOUR FAITH

The Senior Ministry strives to involve all seniors, ages 55+, in activities that promote ministering to each other, sharing God’s love with others, and fellowship. Monthly, they come together to plan future ministering events, share concerns, and offer love and support to each other in an atmosphere of fun and fellowship.

HISTORY

The seniors’ Ministry at Corinth Missionary Baptist church was organized under the leadership of Bishop Dr. William Davenport in 2004.  Bishop Davenport saw the need of a ministry to keep the seniors active and involved through activities, outings, sharing of Life experiences, ideas, and love among themselves and others.  Alberta Baker was appointed as the seniors’ coordinator; holding the position until 2009. In November 2009, Rachel Howard was appointed the coordinator of the seniors’ ministry.

SOWING EAGLES

In 2009, the seniors decided to name the group the Sowing Eagles.

SCRIPTURE

Psalm 92:14, “They shall bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing.”

MOTTO

No Matter what, “We will strive to sow good seeds.”

PURPOSE

Our purpose is to show Christ-like love and plant it wherever we go.
